Center for Student Services-Office Assistant


Department/Division: Center for Student Services

Supervisor Tess Martin/Sandi Smith/Kathy Wince

Purpose of Student's Job: Assist Admissions/Records/Financial Aid office staff with routine tasks

Preferred Time to Perform Job: Able to work during the day and some evenings. (Between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Pay: $8.75 an Hour

Hours: 15-20 per week

Description of Duties:

Admissions/Records/Financial Aid:

·        Answer telephone and take messages as directed/assist with large call list

·        Schedule appointments

·        File/Scan files to Image System (Laserfiche)

·        Help complete assigned projects, faxing and printing documents

·        Make copies/fold papers/stuff envelopes, process documents for mailings

·        Assist students who call or walk into the office (OLSIS, Web E-mail, FASFA, etc.)

·        Assist with registration and Financial Aid

·        Assist with testing and student events

·        Other office duties as assigned or necessary

Office Standards:

·        Must be able to handle sensitive and/or confidential information with utmost professionalism (essential)

·        Appropriate office attire is expected (essential)

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills (essential)
  • Must be eligible to participate in the Federal Work Study Program
