PSA Inc seeking a Software Developer

PSA Inc. is seeking a Software Developer for a Parkersburg client that serves Wood County govt. 

Reporting to the Senior Developer, the Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining web sites, developed applications, and assisting with the on-going development of the applications. They will troubleshoot issues with existing systems and work with the appropriate resources to resolve them. The Developer relies on their experience and knowledge to plan and accomplish goals. They will have an ability to absorb new skills and technologies and an enthusiasm for putting them to use.

Required Qualifications:
· Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CIS, CS or Communications or equivalent experience is required
· 1-3 years’ experience in web development, programming, software and application development
· 1-3 years’ experience with client-side web development and maintenance using COBOL, Microsoft Visual Basic (VB), HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript and an interest in continuing to develop these skills
· An understanding of the basic coding techniques used for developing for reuse
· The ability to develop and execute a unit test plan and work towards delivering code that is free of bugs and satisfies all communicated requirements
· Ability to communicate issues and challenges in a timely manner to both Senior Developers and General Manager (both verbally and/or in writing)
· Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented and creative environment

Travel Requirements:
·         This position may require up to 5-10% travel to and from current or potential client sites, conferences, seminars and/or training sessions.

Applications Software Engineer

Description:Global Science & Technology, Inc., a fast growing high technology firm, is seeking an Applications Software Engineer to support the NOAA CLASS Project. 

The CLASS program supports the mission of the NOAA’s Satellite and Information Service to archive and disseminate environmental data. The development of CLASS is a long term, evolutionary process that incorporates current and new environmental data into the CLASS architecture. GST has been supporting the NOAA/CLASS mission since 2001 by providing highly effective, secure and reliable computing and telecommunications resources, while also identifying methods for applying information technology to improve mission performance and reduce total program costs. 

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining and configuring the BMC Remedy Action Request System (ARS) and any associated applications or components as well as the Knowledge Tree (KT) sites.

Duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to the following:
•Installing BMC Remedy applications. 
•Modify server settings and resolving server issues for Remedy ARS and KT. 
•Setting up and maintaining access control for Remedy ARS and KT.
•Create server objects and applications for Remedy ARS. 
•Update the application as business requirements change for Remedy ARS. 
•Assist users with Remedy ARS and KT related problems. 

•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction. 
•Ability to respond knowledgeably and promptly to questions from users. 
•Ability to install, configure, and maintain applications using BMC Remedy ARS and KT.
•Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.

•Bachelor’s degree (BS) with two or more years related experience and/or training in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
•Experience in the design, code, test and maintenance of software as part of a team. 
•Experience in independently implementing solutions that may include configuration of third-party applications or libraries. 
•Experience using industry-standard software design best practices to build reliable, efficient, maintainable applications.
